Job advert – Financial Controller
Based: Altrincham area. Hybrid Working.
Salary: £37,500 – £45,000
Hours of Work: Flexible working hours, 20-25 hours per week
Contract: 12 month contract (maternity cover)
About Us
SEA Support Services is a care agency providing support to clients who use British Sign Language. The company has been rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
The role is primarily home based, although the successful candidate will need to meet with the CEO and Accounts Assistant at Head Office. We adopt a flexible working policy and are a family-friendly organisation. We offer additional training including the opportunity to learn British Sign Language.
Job Summary
Responsible for delivering accurate financial information and management to monitor and drive financial and operational performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing the day to day running of the accounts for the business
Supervise and manage the Accounts Assistant
Accounts Payable – Purchase ledger invoice processing, supplier payments including ensuring invoices paid in a timely manner and reconciliation of supplier accounts
Accounts Receivable – Sales invoice processing, undertaking credit control duties, reconciling customer accounts on a monthly basis, monitoring the aged receivables listing and alerting management about problem accounts.
Complete all HMRC filings and returns including quarterly VAT returns, Corporation Tax, Income Tax and NI.
Production of monthly management accounts for senior management and presentation to the Board
Preparation of budget forecasts and risk analysis
Monitoring spending advising on how to reduce costs/increase profits including budget and variance analysis
The ideal candidate must be;
ACCA/CIMA Qualified
Experience of working in a similar role as Financial Controller
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Competence in Information Technology
Knowledge of Xero would be an advantage.
