SEA and the communicator guide service supports people who are registered with various levels of sight and hearing loss. Our communicator-guides provide support to DeafBlind people in a range of settings. Whether that be in their own home, care setting or in the community to maintain their independence and access mainstream services.
We have specially trained communicator guides. As a result, they can provide tailored support to all our clients using various guiding and communication techniques. SEA have compatibility assessments to ensure positive, encouraging and strong relationships between clients and staff.

We are passionate about ensuring that all clients have full access to mainstream society. Furthermore, we want clients to feel able to participate full in everyday activities.
Referrals
Referrals to our service are so important as its often the first time that a family member or professional has sought help and support for the person concerned. We are able to offer in depth advice and guidance on the best possible support and services available for Deaf Blind people, even if it’s not ours! However, if you do decide to take up a referral with us we are able to offer an independent Specialist Deaf blind assessment as we have two in-house qualified assessors who are able to conduct this.
